The study evaluated lateral crural steal in closed rhinoplasty with a columellar strut. In the evaluated patients, the maneuver increased rotation without increasing projection, providing useful data for surgical planning.
Current practice has evolved with lateral crural tensioning and septal extension grafts, but the original measurements remain useful for understanding the relationship between steal and tip rotation.
